We’re really delighted to have worked alongside artist, Ian Berry and Leicester City Council to bring Ian’s #IClapFor artwork to Leicester’s New Market Square today (Thursday 18th June). Berry’s work will be visible from 10pm and people are reminded to respect social distancing rules when attending.
The animation of hands clapping has been projected onto buildings across the world including Edinburgh Castle, Canary Wharf, a tower block in Mexico City and in Landskrona, Sweden. The idea is to use the projections as a platform to try and raise money for NHS charities and similar organisations internationally. Using the hashtag #IClapFor encourages people to share which friends, family or organisations people are clapping for.
Ian spoke about how his six year old son, Elliot loved clapping on a Thursday night which is what inspired him in the first place. Badges are now available of Ian’s artwork via Pin Your Thanks. The money raised is funding grants to help NHS charities support NHS staff, volunteers and patients.
